In the midst of an always busy schedule, Pnina took time to answer questions our most pressing questions, about her background and why she wanted to become a designer.

Her Royal Style: What was your first inspiration to be a designer?
Pnina Tornai: Growing up, I actually never thought of becoming a designer. I always wanted to be an actress! I did steal my mother’s tablecloths and make dresses at a young age, but I never considered it as a career. During a very difficult time in my life, I had a dream where I was laying in my backyard and wedding gowns began falling from the sky. I could see the details of each one so vividly, from the laces to the embellishments. When I woke up, I knew that this was a sign from God that designing bridal gowns was my calling.

Do you still remember the first dress you created?

The first dress I ever created was my wedding dress. I got married in Paris and the dress was designed by me and made by the creative team of Habima, the national Israeli theater.

How many years have you been a designer?
I’ve been designing for over 25 years.

Before you were a designer, were you thinking about having another job?
I always dreamed of becoming an actress and am still an actress today. I’m so fortunate that I have been able to continue doing all of the things that I love. I get the best of both worlds.

Which country do you most want to do one of your shows?
I would love to have a trunk show in Brazil! I receive so much love from my Brazilian fans every day on my Instagram and I would love to meet them all.

What do your family think of being loved and admired by thousands of people?
They are so supportive, but I think most important roles I play are sister, wife, aunt, and grandmother. At the end of the day, I’m still me. Despite the highs and the lows, family is always there.

About the love of fans, what would you say if you could talk to everyone today?
I would want to thank them all for their constant support! I love reading their kind messages, hearing their stories, and seeing the photos of my brides at their weddings.
